Allow multiple users to hold the Account Owner role

Allow multiple users to hold the Account Owner role.

It would be advantageous to have more than one user as having the account owner role. This is especially true when the current account owner leaves the company w/o transfering the role to someone else. Having one one user be able to hold the role is artificially creating a single point of failure.

Many other SaaS products allow for multiple users to hold the ownership role.

I agree. It would make managing the security a lot easier. Instead of having to make the single owner account and then share the password across the admins/managers we could let people just log in and “change users” or something like that temporarily to “owner”, do their work, and drop back down to normal user again. Do keep the current owner user so we can still get in if SSO fails, but for all the more common things like sso config use a regular user with “owner” role.

I am surprised this needs to be a feature request. The whole point of PagerDuty is escalation policies and Account Owner should be no different

I read, “PagerDuty On-Call Management makes it simple to distribute on-call responsibilities across teams, so you can ensure the exact right people are notified when time is on the line.” from https://www.pagerduty.com/platform/devops/on-call-management/
Why is Account Owner not considered in the same light? To me it is a single point of failure so long as this remains the case
